This is my entry for GDevelop Game Jam #8.

Your crew has been searching for a safe place to settle after months at sea. After exploring countless islands, you finally find one that seems empty, quiet, and strong enough to build a base on. With its tall cliffs, sheltered coves, and sturdy ground, it looks like the perfect new home.

So you start building.

A lookout tower.
A wall.
A few weapon platforms.
Finally, it feels safe.

But on the first night, everything changes.

The ground starts rumbling with a low vibration, almost like something underneath is waking up. Strange cracks appear in the sand. The ocean becomes rough, and you can see large shadows moving beneath the surface.

Then the attackers appear.

From the soil rise Skeleton Minions—creatures made of old bones held together by something you can’t explain. They aren’t strong individually, but they show up in huge numbers and try to rush straight into your base.

From the waves emerge Shark Warriors—massive hybrid creatures built for combat. They deal heavy damage, they take a long time to bring down, and they charge with purpose. If they reach your base, the whole structure will collapse quickly.

It becomes clear what’s happening:
The island isn’t abandoned.
It’s defending itself.

Your base is the only thing standing between you and total defeat. If the attackers break through, you lose control of the island completely. If you stand your ground, you prove you deserve to stay.

Build defenses.
Manage your weapons.
Protect the base no matter what comes next.
