GDevelop 5 is a free, open-source game development engine that allows people to create video games without coding. It is designed to be beginner-friendly while still powerful enough for indie developers and educators.

Originally known as Game Develop, the engine evolved into GDevelop 5, which is the modern and current version of the software. It uses a visual, event-based system, where users create game logic using conditions and actions instead of writing programming code.
