About:  Hi! My name is Nidhi, and I'm the creator of this game :)

This project is in collaboration with the University of Colorado and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. I want to thank ML Makerspace, the University of Colorado, and the (NSF) National Science Foundation's grant program for this incredible opportunity and journey as a Build a Better Book intern. As this project continues in Spring (2023), Pea's Journey will undergo a lot of changes. I want to thank all the knowledgeable and amazing feedback received from students at St. Josephs, and all the accessibility experts I was fortunate to meet and share ideas with, who guided my decisions with the game. 

This computer-based game is designed to operate primarily on sound-based cues and work as a platformer game. The inspiration for this game comes from Geometry Dash and Temple run. The focus will be to have sufficient contrast and on-time obstacles based on the song's rhythms, or customized instrumental beats. This audio game was designed special focus on accessibility for the blind and visually impaired community.

Added a start and end screen to the game. When a character comes in collision with an obstacle, the game ends, and players must press a key to restart the game. Also added background sound to both scenes.

One-level progression with no increase in difficulty. When the character, Pea, comes in collision with an obstacle, the game immediately restarts, not giving the character a chance to view their score or pause before the game restarts. Many updates are on the way!

EchoQuest is an accessible maze allowed usct for Katy Youth Hacks 2024 aimed for individuals who are blind and/or have motor impairments. The objective is to guide a cat named Midnight to its treats by navigating through progressively challenging mazes. The game provides audio and visual feedback when Midnight hits a wall, assisting visually impaired players in navigating the maze. Additionally, it supports voice commands, such as "up" and "down," enabling children with motor disabilities to control the cat's movements. EchoQuest is created using GDevelop and utilizes GDevelop's API to run and host the game.
