Cinder and his little sister Ember lived in Cinder Hill. When the Rustworks factories exploded, Ember got trapped in the Inferno Core - the heart of the volcano.



Lord Slag found her. He saw Ember has a pure, endless flame inside her that never goes out. So he plugged her into his giant machine like a battery to power his city forever.



Every zone you play, Cinder hears her faint heartbeat:

• In Charred Forest - her ash toys • In Rustworks City - her cry on the factory speakers • In Frost Ash - the mountain froze because her heat is being drained • In Crystal Cinder - the crystals show him she's still alive, fading 

Final Zone reason: In Inferno Core, you see it. Ember is trapped inside a giant crystal in the middle of the lava lake, crying, her flame powering Lord Slag's final mech.



You don't fight Lord Slag to save the world. You fight him to get your sister back. If you lose, she dies and her flame goes out
